Apart from these 2 days, the direction of the rising sun can be east of north east (ENE), east of south east (ESE) or even north of north east (NNE). So, the common perception of having an east facing home can be nothing but an illusion. You need to be careful when your real estate agent tells that your new home is an east facing vastu. Evaluate it yourself before making the deal.

So, how can you determine the same? simple, by using a magnetic compass. The needle of a compass points the actual north quite precisely. Accordingly, you can track the all 4 direction with respect to you house. In order to determine the directional facing you need t check just one simple thing. Note the direction in which you facing, while walking out of your house through your main entrance. If you face east while going out of your home, through main entrance, then you are in an east facing house.

So, while determining the directional facing of your home, always use a compass instead of direction of rising or setting sun. That way, you can be certain that you are getting the property which you really wan to.
